Today’s dialogue is about books and bookshops. And visiting bookshops just feels so.. French. If/when you’re in Paris a bookshop or two are a must visit.
Personally, I really love mulling around a bookshop but actually reading a book is always.. a little trickier. But today’s dialogue is filled with vocabulary useful in any situation and contains one of the most wonderful French phrases ever for saying you feel a little down: “j’ai le cafard” ('I have the cockroach’🪳).. check it out below.

— Hi J, what was the last book you read?
Jeanne : Coucou Kylian. En fait, je viens de terminer un recueil de poésies ✪. J'adore la façon dont les mots sont tissés en une sorte de mélodie. Ça me rappelle un peu les concerts de musique classique que j'aime tant.
— Hi K. I've just finished a collection of poems. I love the way the words are woven into a sort of melody. It reminds me a bit of the classical music concerts that I love so much.
Kylian : C'est intéressant. Je dois avouer que je ne lis pas souvent de poésie. J'étais plutôt plongé dans une intrigue ✪ de roman policier ces derniers temps.
