pas tant = Like the French version of "not really" or "not so much". It's perfect for toning down a statement. Like when someone asks if you're tired and you're halfway there but don't want to sound too whiny. ”Tu es en colère contre lui?" – "Pas tant, juste un peu déçu(e)." (Are you angry at him? – Not really, just a bit disappointed.)
lâché prise ✨ = se détendre, se relaxer = let go, relax. Something we probably all need to do. Like telling the universe, "You know what? You handle it!" A great phrase to use when you're on vacation and decide to forget about work emails. "J'ai complètement lâché prise ce week-end, pas de ménage, pas de travail!" (I totally let go this weekend, no cleaning, no work!)
ça te dit d’aller… ✨🧩 = the way do ask “do you want to go, would you like to go…”. A casual and friendly way to suggest plans. Great for dates or when you're trying to sound nonchalant about that concert you're dying to go to. "Ça te dit d'aller voir un film ce soir ?" (Do you feel like going to see a movie tonight?)
boire un coup ✨ = prendre un verre = have a drink. Another go-to phrase, this time for casual socializing in France. It's perfect for when you want to hang out but don't want to make it sound like a big deal. The French equivalent of "grabbing a coffee". Example: "On se retrouve après le boulot pour boire un coup?" (Shall we meet after work for a drink?)
